The Frog Page

This is a Tasmanian Green and Gold Frog. Litoria Raniformus.

This is Tasmania's most vulnerable frog and is found in the north east. Their numbers have dramatically decreased over the last ten years due to the increased use of pestacides and chemicals used in farming, and if something isn't changed soon we will lose these beautiful creatures for good.

They grow to reach up to 100mm in length and can eat small snakes and even mice. However their main diet consists of crickets, worms, lizards, ants and moths. The frog in the photgraph is about 3 years old and about 50mm in length. It is very hard to determin the sex of the frog until they mate or call to attract the female.

I would like to start up breeding program to help save our little green buddies from extintion, but it would cost a little bit to get started. If you are intrerested in finding out more information or would like to make contibution towards my breeding program send me an email.
