Back from the Dead - film setting

An 1830s market square.

"Back from the Dead"

A splatter black comedy.

Built in a former gun emplacement, the existing stone walls were incorporated as part of the set. Shots were framed so that the walls appeared to extend up to another floor, or a false roof line was installed.

A great many people and departments were involved so I built a real scale model of the battery and the proposed installations rather than putting a lot of time into computer simulations.

The shoot involved 40 extras, horses and carts, dogs, chickens and piglets.
