I proposed a design concept for one of Hobart's annual Taste of Tasmania events which involved the community and invited contributions which showed sea-life, both real and imaginary, as if the viewer were standing on the ocean floor.

Held in a large warehouse, the decoration was created by primary school students with help from parents and friends. We installed their creatures along with a large number of dyed cloth banners which represented the surface of the water.

The students and their assistants exceeded expectations with their fantastic ideas.

Considerations:

• high visibility among 60+ booths
• reflect the food or drink on offer
• cost effective
• to fit an existing shell
• limited set-up time
• portable and easy to assemble
• meet health authority requirements.
